Photographer for the Cultural Administration

The Cultural Administration works for a free, rich, and strong cultural life throughout Västra Götaland. We promote, support, and develop the cultural life of Västra Götaland together with municipalities, civil society, and other stakeholders. The Cultural Administration provides support to the region's cultural political bodies: the Cultural Committee and the Board for Cultural Development. To carry out our mission with art, culture, nature, and cultural heritage, our core operations consist of two departments: Art and Culture, and Nature and Cultural Heritage, each divided into several units. The Nature and Cultural Heritage department includes the six museums and visitor destinations managed by the administration. To coordinate cross-cutting issues across the administration, we work in a matrix, which includes our work with municipalities, children and youth, collection management, and Agenda 2030.

Description

As part of Västra Götaland Region's emergency planning, a special investment is being made in the region's collections at the Cultural Administration's museums.

Through an inventory and digitization of prioritized collections in storage and exhibitions, as well as parts of our archives, we ensure a fundamental traceability that facilitates management during heightened preparedness. This creates the conditions necessary to maintain essential operations at the Cultural Administration's museums.

We are now seeking a photographer for a project employment within the framework of emergency planning at the Nature and Cultural Heritage department of the Cultural Administration.

Responsibilities

As a photographer within the project, your task is to document our prioritized collections through photography. You will be based at the Gothenburg Natural History Museum but may need to work at our other museums as needed. Therefore, we value your ability to adapt.

Qualifications

We are looking for a skilled and experienced photographer with experience in photographing museum collections of various kinds. Familiarity with handling museum objects and establishing photo registers is an advantage. You have an eye for detail and work efficiently and systematically, with an excellent ability to organize your work. A B driver's license is an advantage. We place great importance on personal qualities.

Conditions

The position is a project employment for 6 months. Some parts of the assignment will be carried out in locations other than Gothenburg. We plan for interviews in early May.
